In Studio Red
Napa Valley 2015
2015 was one of the earliest harvests on record in Napa Valley; a dry, warm winter with only 75% of normal precipitation resulted in small grape clusters with highly concentrated flavors. Bud break was early, and there was an uneven fruit set due to a long flowering period; this led to a lighter crop. A surge in hot temperatures in the final weeks of harvest brought the last of the crop in quickly. Overall, the 2015 vintage was early and light, with wines showing richness and deep flavor.
Multiple vineyards throughout Napa Valley were employed with this second release of In Studio Red. The complexity and balance of this vintage were achieved through diverse sourcing, and this marriage of varietals creates an intriguing red offering.
Following destemming, the hand-picked grapes were stainless steel-fermented and received extended skin contact before being transferred to barrels. The wine was aged in small French oak barrels for 24 months where the wine completed malolactic fermentation. The wine was racked prior to bottling.
Ripe black cherry, cedar, dark chocolate, and baking spices on the nose. Medium bodied with a ripe juicy core of red and black berries, and a hint of orange zest on the finish.

"Bright and aromatic with blueberry, raspberry and violet aromas that follow through to a medium to full body, round tannins and a vivid finish. Melts in your mouth. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, syrah and petite sirah. Drink or hold."
