In Studio Red
Napa Valley 2016
The 2016 vintage was near perfect in Napa Valley. The growing season had an early start and ideal weather throughout. Harvest was ideally paced, with vineyards ripening in a cycle that allowed successive picking at targeted ripeness. The resulting wines are showing great balance and intensity of flavor.
Multiple vineyards throughout Napa Valley were employed with this third release of In Studio Red. The complexity and balance of this vintage were achieved through diverse sourcing, and this marriage of varietals creates an intriguing red offering.
Following destemming, the hand-picked grapes were stainless steel-fermented and received extended skin contact before being transferred to barrels. The wine was aged in small French oak barrels for 27 months where the wine completed malolactic fermentation. The wine was racked prior to bottling.
Aromas of spiced plums, orange rind, cedar and graphite meet you on the nose. A palate of soft, silky tannins introduces flavors of juicy blackberries and spice that linger well into the finish.

92 points - 2014 Vintage
"Bright and aromatic with blueberry, raspberry and violet aromas that follow through to a medium to full body, round tannins and a vivid finish. Melts in your mouth. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, syrah and petite sirah. Drink or hold."
